The number of cases of so-called variants of concern in B.C. is now 72.
Gustafson reported 4,486 active cases of COVID-19 Friday, an increase of 138 from Thursday. There are 217 people in hospital including 61 in critical or intensive care.
Six more people have died of the virus, lifting the provincial death toll to 1,327.
A total of 7,699 people are under active public monitoring due to direct COVID-19 exposure.
There are 69,970 people considered fully recovered, or 92 per cent of all recorded cases.
Gustafson noted 192,942 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to British Columbians, including 36,923 second doses. She noted 12,250 doses were delivered Thursday, marking the highest single-day total to date.
