Art Gallery closing for “extended period” for fire suppression work
The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia (AGNS) will be closing for an “extended period” starting Thursday, Feb. 1.
In a release, AGNS said the closure is needed to replace the fire suppression system in the south building, which the Gallery said has reached “the end of its life”.
There’s no firm date for reopening. The release mentions the closure will last until spring.
“Providing access to art experiences remains a priority for the AGNS during this closure” says Sarah Moore Fillmore, CEO. “We will continue to offer our scheduled in-community programming, in-school programs and will be looking for ways to bring more art experiences to the public during this time”.
During the closure, other maintenance work will be done in the north building of the Gallery.
