Call of Duty patch makes Warzone’s Gulag weapons fully automatic – Polygon

Published

 on

Late Monday night, Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare got a new patch. Both games saw playlist updates, with Warzone seeing a buff to its Gulag weapons and Modern Warfare getting two new multiplayer maps. For a complete list of patch notes, scroll down.

In Warzone, Infinity Ward has replaced all of the Gulag weapons with automatics. Instead of pistols and revolvers, players will randomly receive one of six assault rifles or four SMGs. This should make the Gulag fights more electric, especially as fans use weapons they’re more familiar with.

Warzone also has some new playlists. The battle royale mode offers solos, trios, and quads, while Plunder has Blood Money quads. A new Armor Box can refill the entire team’s armor, and Most Wanted contracts are back — after some serious community complaints.

Modern Warfare has two new maps. Aisle 9 is a new map specifically for Gunfight, and Hardhat is available in general multiplayer modes. Modern Warfare’s Spec Ops mode also has a new, modified version. This new mode can change enemy behavior, like making them more aggressive or immune to all damage other than headshots.

Modern Warfare also has some playlist updates. Realism Moshpit with NVG is here, as is Reinfected Ground War, Core Ground War, and Blueprint Gunfight. Players interested in testing the new maps can check out Aisle 9 Face Off Moshpit and Hardhat 24/7.

United Airlines will offer free internet on flights using service from Elon Musk’s SpaceX

Published

 on

CHICAGO (AP) — United Airlines has struck a deal with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to offer satellite-based Starlink WiFi service on flights within the next several years.

The airline said Friday the service will be free to passengers.

United said it will begin testing the service early next year and begin offering it on some flights by later in 2025.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The announcement comes as airlines rush to offer more amenities as a way to stand out when passengers pick a carrier for a trip. United’s goal is to make sitting on a plane pretty much like being on the ground when it comes to browsing the internet, streaming entertainment and playing games.

“Everything you can do on the ground, you’ll soon be able to do on board a United plane at 35,000 feet, just about anywhere in the world,” CEO Scott Kirby said in announcing the deal.

The airline says Starlink will allow passengers to get internet access even over oceans and polar regions where traditional cell or Wi-Fi signals may be weak or missing.
