Peterborough’s Medical Officer of Health is happy with some of the results of vaccines locally.
Dr. Thomas Piggott says while case numbers continue a slow climb, the severity of cases, or lack thereof, has been encouraging.
Peterborough currently has 85.7% of eligible residents 12 and older fully vaccinated, while just under 8% have received a booster shot.
Piggott adds that while having a vaccination rate around 85% is a good start, an A- when it comes to vaccines isn’t good enough. Starting Monday, eligibility for people 50 and older opens up for third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
