LATEST UPDATES
3 p.m. – Health officials are set to share latest figures on COVID-19 in B.C.
Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix will update the number of COVID-19 cases, deaths and recoveries across the province.
12 a.m.-Four deaths and 294 new cases in B.C. over past three days
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said there were now 1,107 active cases of the disease, with 28 of those cases being treated in hospital including 10 in intensive care. This is the first time there have been over 1,000 active cases of COVID-19 in B.C.
Henry said as the pandemic continues into the fall, people need to slow down social interactions to prepare for the respiratory season ahead.
“We need everyone to pay attention and step back from the social interactions we have had this summer, so when the cooler weather and respiratory season arrives, we are ready for the challenge,” she said on Monday.
“As we go back to our offices, workplaces and schools, we need to get back to the basics with our layers of protection and personal COVID-19 safety measures. This will allow us to protect our most vulnerable during the colder months.”
