Guns, Guns, Damn Guns. Put an End to this Horror

Published

 on

Another group of citizens was killed by a gun-toting lunatic. How else can I describe the feeling, when average day fella’s shamed, insulted or angered by another to find a solution to their problem with a gun? The insanity of gun violence is seeping into Canada as well. I say seeping because what else can you call the violent Americanism of residential gun violence but a wound that will not heal, a wound that will eventually destroy our southern neighbor’s democracy? While blank-minded fools think guns are there to protect them and the republic they claim to support, it is weapons, firearms, guns, or whatever you want to call them that will bring American Freedom to not only a standstill but bring it down, issuing in an American Totalitarian Reign that professes to protect the average American.

Oh, America, you fools, you fools. The choices you have made have brought your death, chaos, and a future full of oppression and fear. Your elected officials are mostly in the pockets of the gun manufacturers and Pentagon lobbyists, all fascinated by new weapons technology. If you work in such factories, be brave and leave. Find a job that is upbuilding and humanitarian, not one that causes the nation to BLEED. Is the responsibility of gun ownership too heavy for some of your fellow citizens? Maybe. Let’s suggest a few ideas that may help.

1. Firearms should not reside in homes, but in central facilities where a citizen can go, and get their weapon freely. Idea…out of sight, perhaps out of mind. If a member of a gun club, all firearms should be stored in a central facility.

2. Gun ownership must be regulated. Initial personal face-to-face investigations and interviews of new potential owners and other owners need to be done at a five-year interval. Initially, and then every five years. Psychological, attitudinal l and lifestyle investigations are to be required. Persons of special interest to the police need further secure investigation.

3. Gun ownership is to become a federal protocol, not a state or provincial issue.

4. Those who have mental health, criminal, or other lifestyle issues need further investigation and consideration. No one is to be allowed to pass stringent protocols.

5. Ownership of assault rifles, and explosive and explosive weaponry should be outlawed.

6. Those who break these laws and regulations need to be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

7. Places, where the public congregates, should have full well trained security available.

I do not know about you all, but I am sick and tired of the platitudes I hear about the 2nd amendment, and the gun lobbies’ propaganda. Like the “Boss” sings…what good is war? Absolutely Nothing”.
Weapons of mass destruction like assault rifles, explosives, and the like are only useful to our military.
Do such weapons have a place in our society? “Absolutely NOT”.

To the gun lobby, the Pentagon backroom boys, and the National Rifle Association all I can say is we have had enough of your bullshit. Here’s an idea folks. How about we hunt these mothers Fer’s down, and give them a piece of our existence, our fear, our fatalistic future? What if these bastards’ children were threatened as ours are? Politicians are in the NRA’s pocket too, how about you all? Like a piece of this action as well? This horrible situation, where mass shootings happen regularly MUST STOP.

Remember folks, a few wise words from a little giant of a man, “no man can hurt me without my permission”(Gandhi). Your society has given the weapon dealers permission to put you in front of these weapons. Take that permission back, explain what the 2nd amendment truly means, and bring peace back to our lands.

RCMP arrest second suspect in deadly shooting east of Calgary

EDMONTON – RCMP say a second suspect has been arrested in the killing of an Alberta county worker.

Mounties say 28-year-old Elijah Strawberry was taken into custody Friday at a house on O’Chiese First Nation.

Colin Hough, a worker with Rocky View County, was shot and killed while on the job on a rural road east of Calgary on Aug. 6.

Another man who worked for Fortis Alberta was shot and wounded, and RCMP said the suspects fled in a Rocky View County work truck.

Police later arrested Arthur Wayne Penner, 35, and charged him with first-degree murder and attempted murder, and a warrant was issued for Strawberry’s arrest.

RCMP also said there was a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Strawberry, describing him as armed and dangerous.

Chief Supt. Roberta McKale, told a news conference in Edmonton that officers had received tips and information over the last few weeks.

“I don’t know of many members that when were stopped, fuelling up our vehicles, we weren’t keeping an eye out, looking for him,” she said.

But officers had been investigating other cases when they found Strawberry.

“Our investigators were in O’Chiese First Nation at a residence on another matter and the major crimes unit was there working another file and ended up locating him hiding in the residence,” McKale said.

While an investigation is still underway, RCMP say they’re confident both suspects in the case are in police custody.

26-year-old son is accused of his father’s murder on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast

Published

RICHMOND, B.C. – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says the 26-year-old son of a man found dead on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast has been charged with his murder.

Police say 58-year-old Henry Doyle was found badly injured on a forest service road in Egmont last September and died of his injuries.

The homicide team took over when the BC Coroners Service said the man’s death was suspicious.

It says in a statement that the BC Prosecution Service has approved one count of first-degree murder against the man’s son, Jackson Doyle.

Police say the accused will remain in custody until at least his next court appearance.

The homicide team says investigators remained committed to solving the case with the help of the community of Egmont, the RCMP on the Sunshine Coast and in Richmond, and the Vancouver Police Department.

Metro Vancouver’s HandyDART strike continues after talks break with no deal

Published

 on

VANCOUVER – Mediated talks between the union representing HandyDART workers in Metro Vancouver and its employer, Transdev, have broken off without an agreement following 15 hours of talks.

Joe McCann, president of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1724, says they stayed at the bargaining table with help from a mediator until 2 a.m. Friday and made “some progress.”

However, he says the union negotiators didn’t get an offer that they could recommend to the membership.

McCann says that in some ways they are close to an agreement, but in other areas they are “miles apart.”

About 600 employees of the door-to-door transit service for people who can’t navigate the conventional transit system have been on strike since last week, pausing service for all but essential medical trips.

McCann asks HandyDART users to be “patient,” since they are trying to get not only a fair contract for workers but also a better service for customers.

He says it’s unclear when the talks will resume, but he hopes next week at the latest.

The employer, Transdev, didn’t reply to an interview request before publication.
