Male arrested for indecent act

A Guelph male faces charges after he was observed masturbating while following a female in a downtown park Wednesday morning.

Approximately 10 a.m., a female called to report a male committing an indecent act at Goldie Mill Park in the area of Cardigan Street and Norwich Street East. Officers were able to identify the subject from photographs provided by the victim.

The male was located just after 7 p.m. by officers responding to an unrelated call for service in the downtown area.

A 31-year-old Guelph male is charged with committing an indecent act in a public place and failing to comply with probation. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.

Knife pulled in roommate dispute

A Guelph male faces assault and weapons charges after a knife was brandished during a roommate dispute Wednesday.

Just after 11 a.m. police were called to a residence in the area of Gordon Street and Kortright Road East. Investigation revealed two male roommates were arguing when one picked up a kitchen knife and pointed it at the victim while walking towards him.

Another roommate was able to disarm the subject and there were no physical injuries.

A 30-year-old Guelph male is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon. He will appear in a Guelph court September 13, 2022.

Licence suspended following crash

A Guelph female was taken off the road for three days after a single-vehicle collision which destroyed her vehicle Wednesday night.

The Guelph Police Service was called just before 11 p.m. to the area of Stevenson Street North and Bennett Avenue for a report of a vehicle which struck a tree. A vehicle was found with severe front-end damage but there were no serious injuries reported.

The driver, a 32-year-old Guelph female, had her driver’s licence suspended for three days after registering a warning on a roadside breath test, indicating her blood-alcohol level was close to the legal limit. She was also charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
