Male arrested for breaching terms
A Guelph male already facing charges of assaulting a stranger while she was walking her dog was arrested again Wednesday for breaching release conditions.
The victim of the earlier assault contacted the Guelph Police Service after spotting the male at a downtown address he had been ordered to avoid. Officers located the male and placed him under arrest.
A search incident to arrest revealed he was in possession of a birth certificate and credit card in other people’s names.
A 25-year-old Guelph male is charged with two counts each of breaching probation and breaching release conditions as well as possessing a stolen credit card and possessing an identity document. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
London couple arrested for Guelph break-in
A London couple was arrested this week for breaking into a Guelph business last month.
On August 21, just before 11 p.m., a male and female broke into a business on Stone Road West and stole approximately $4,000 worth of cellphones and laptop computers. The incident was captured on surveillance video.
Both parties were subsequently arrested in connection with a shoplifting incident at a business on Silvercreek Parkway North on August 27. Further investigation revealed they were involved in the break and enter and this week both were also charged in relation to that incident.
Both will appear in a Guelph bail court Thursday.
Cambridge male faces several charges
A Cambridge male faces several charges following his arrest in Guelph Wednesday.
The male was wanted on charges including mischief under $5,000 for damaging two vehicles in March 2021, in a Silvercreek Parkway North parking lot. He was arrested at that time but later missed a court date.
A 38-year-old Cambridge male is charged with two counts of mischief under $5,000, two counts of failing to attend court and failing to comply with a probation order.
He was held to appear in a bail court Friday.
