New COVID cases up 29, recoveries up 34

There were more COVID-19 recoveries than new cases reported in Sarnia-Lambton Friday.

Even so, new confirmed cases jumped 29 to a total of 2,721. Another 34 cases are considered resolved, lowering the active case count by five to 217.

The death toll remained unchanged at 48 and active institutional, school and workplace outbreaks remained the same at 15. There were still a total of 21 public and Catholic schools in Lambton with at least one student or staff case, 14 of those in the Lambton Kent District School Board.

COVID-positive patients at Bluewater Health dropped by one to seven.
