Province announces infrastructure investment

The provincial government announced some major funding for local infrastructure projects and supports.

In a release last week, Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson detailed an investment of just over 8.8 million dollars for her Huron-Bruce riding this year to help municipal governments repair roads, bridges, water and waste water infrastructure.

16 municipalities across Huron-Bruce will be splitting the 2020 funding. Across the province, the Doug Ford led Conservatives are promising to invest 200 million dollars through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF).

Lisa Thompson says this shows the provincial government is committed to helping local rural communities.

“Municipalities across Huron-Bruce have aging infrastructure. This provincial investment is invaluable in order to enable local municipalities to build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater systems as needed.”
