The global yachting industry is being transformed under the influence of many factors. Yacht manufacturing companies are introducing new technologies and innovations to keep up with modern trends and requirements. Today we will talk about technology and innovation in luxury yachts.

You can try out such yachts and feel like the captain of a ship using rent a yacht. You will be able to try out modern luxury yachts and get acquainted with the technologies and their features. It once seemed that yachts were an inaccessible thing that only millionaires could afford. Today, many people choose to rent a yacht which is not as expensive as it may seem. If you are going to the UAE in the near future, we advise you to look into sunny Abu Dhabi, it will surprise you not only with yachts. Renting a yacht is as easy as renting a car using abu dhabi luxury car rental. With this rental company, you can plunge into the world of luxury life at the most affordable prices. Just imagine driving a Lamborghini to the pier, boarding a luxury yacht, and sailing off to the open sea. It’s really worth it.

Environmental consciousness

Global trends in environmental friendliness have not spared yachting. The International Maritime Organization has directed a reduction in carbon emissions by 50% by 2050. As a result, builders and suppliers are developing sustainable solutions:

  • New power plants burn less fuel, and solar panels allow fuel-free operation;
  • Recyclable materials are actively used for shipbuilding;
  • The use of 3-D printers is being introduced: the technology is currently used for the production of small parts, but printers can be used to construct housings.

The number of innovative projects is growing, which attracts both manufacturers and owners.

Solar panels and eco-yachts

We can dwell on them in more detail. Modern trends in preserving nature and the purity of the ocean have led to the fact that modern luxury yachts began to be covered with solar panels. They cover the hull, or if the yacht is larger, certain solar panels are placed. This technology allows not only to reduce emissions of harmful substances but also to save a huge amount of fuel. Today, rental companies equip their older yachts with solar panels.

There are also some models that operate exclusively on wind and solar energy. And experts say that such eco-yachts are the future.

New materials

One innovative technology on the yachts of the future is the use of modern materials for hull construction and superstructure. Composite materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass are highly durable and light, which reduces the weight of the yacht and increases its maneuverability. These materials also have excellent aesthetic characteristics, allowing you to create modern and stylish designs.

Open space

Pool terraces and panoramic sea views, which provide an opportunity to contemplate nature, are popular in ship design. After all, this is exactly what most people rent yachts for. Yachts that provide the feeling of being outdoors are becoming popular among wealthy people. They focus on light curves and modern lines of the exterior.

Smart yacht

Modern technologies allow ship owners to adapt the capabilities of a “smart home” on a yacht. A yacht can easily become a home or office away from home. Ease of communication and an increased level of protection create a unique infrastructure and make the owner’s life easier.

Competent management

Yacht owners are actively looking for professional managers to entrust them with the management of the vessel: using fuel correctly, introducing new technologies, and doing everything to keep the vessel in the best condition. Fortunately, when renting a yacht, the rental company keeps track of all this.

Trips

Among the younger generation, ships on which you can explore distant countries are gaining popularity: the Mediterranean is no longer so popular, and now Scandinavia, Antarctica, Australia, and Southeast Asia are in trend. This trend has given rise to explorer vessels and crossover yachts. They have all the amenities of traditional models, have a more durable body, less open space, and more storage space (garages, refrigerators). Yachts are designed for voyages around the world in any weather.

Trends for the discerning

The main trend is to obtain vivid individual impressions, which are determined by three factors:

  • Time for every moment;
  • Confidentiality and privacy;
  • Personalization and unique offer.

Therefore, luxury yachts are popular in this segment, which continue to grow in size and are equipped with spas, cinemas, gyms, and other infrastructure. The ships are equipped with adjoining rooms, private swimming pools, yoga studios, and offices.

Conclusion

Thus, the global trend towards sustainable and environmental development has not bypassed the sailing business: alternative ways of generating energy and building ships are being invented. Design is becoming open, and yachts are increasingly being used for voyages around the world.

MONTREAL – Lightspeed Commerce Inc. says it is conducting a review of its business and operations including talks relating to a range of potential strategic alternatives.

The Montreal-based payments technology company made the comments after reports concerning a potential transaction involving the company.

A strategic review is often seen by investors as a prelude to a sale by a company.

Lightspeed says its board of directors is committed to acting in the best interests of the company and its stakeholders.

Company founder Dax Dasilva returned to the role of chief executive officer earlier this year and has been working to return the company to profitability.

Bank of Canada trying to figure out how AI might affect inflation, Macklem says

Published

 on

OTTAWA – Bank of Canada governor Tiff Macklem says there is a lot of uncertainty around how artificial intelligence could affect the economy moving forward, including the labour market and price growth.

In a speech in Toronto at the Economics of Artificial Intelligence Conference, the governor said Friday that the central bank is approaching the issue cautiously to get a better understanding of how AI could affect its job of keeping inflation low and stable.

“Be wary of anyone who claims to know where AI will take us. There is too much uncertainty to be confident,” Macklem said in prepared remarks.

“We don’t know how quickly AI will continue to advance. And we don’t know the timing and extent of its economic and social impacts.”

The governor said AI has the potential of increasing labour productivity, which would raise living standards and grow the economy without boosting inflation.

In the short-term, he said investment in AI is adding to demand and could be inflationary.

However, Macklem also highlighted more pessimistic scenarios, where AI could destroy more jobs than it creates or lead to less competition rather than more.

The governor called on academics and businesses to work together to shed more light on the potential effects of AI on the economy.

“When you enter a dark room, you don’t go charging in. You cautiously feel your way around. And you try to find the light switch. That is what we are doing. What we central bankers need is more light,” he said.

United Airlines will offer free internet on flights using service from Elon Musk’s SpaceX

Published

 on

CHICAGO (AP) — United Airlines has struck a deal with Elon Musk’s SpaceX to offer satellite-based Starlink WiFi service on flights within the next several years.

The airline said Friday the service will be free to passengers.

United said it will begin testing the service early next year and begin offering it on some flights by later in 2025.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The announcement comes as airlines rush to offer more amenities as a way to stand out when passengers pick a carrier for a trip. United’s goal is to make sitting on a plane pretty much like being on the ground when it comes to browsing the internet, streaming entertainment and playing games.

“Everything you can do on the ground, you’ll soon be able to do on board a United plane at 35,000 feet, just about anywhere in the world,” CEO Scott Kirby said in announcing the deal.

The airline says Starlink will allow passengers to get internet access even over oceans and polar regions where traditional cell or Wi-Fi signals may be weak or missing.
