Whilst it may not be a huge deal, we thought it was good to see that the CT Real Estate Investment Trust (TSE:CRT.UN) Chief Operating Officer, Kevin Salsberg, recently bought CA$65k worth of stock, for CA$15.25 per share. While we’re hesitant to get too excited about a purchase of that size, we do note it increased their holding by a solid 22%.
In fact, the recent purchase by Kevin Salsberg was the biggest purchase of CT Real Estate Investment Trust shares made by an insider individual in the last twelve months, according to our records. So it’s clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being CA$14.18). It’s very possible they regret the purchase, but it’s more likely they are bullish about the company. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when insiders have purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price.
