What you need to know about Fall Service Changes on transit

As the summer season starts to change, so does transit service around the region. Our Fall Service Changes comes into effect on Sept. 4, benefiting post-secondary students and workers across Metro Vancouver.

We’re increasing service to 18 routes to address overcrowding and to four routes serving University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University, and Capilano University. We’re also introducing the route 44 UBC/Dundarave extension for express trips on weekdays between West Vancouver and UBC.

Route 44 extension

The route 44 extension provides a one-seat ride for customers who previously had to transfer between routes 250 and 44 in downtown Vancouver.

New seasonal peak service extends route 44 six times daily:

• Trips each weekday from West Vancouver to UBC at 6:58, 7:58, and 8:58 a.m.
• Trips each weekday to West Vancouver from UBC at 3:05, 4:05, and 5:05 p.m.

531 re-route

Following feedback from the City of Surrey and local businesses, we’re re-routing the 531 to improve connections and better serve the Campbell Heights industrial area.

This reroute provides new service along 36th Avenue and 192nd Street and offers direct access to businesses in Campbell Heights.

In total, there are service adjustments on 54 bus routes to meet our customer demand. Some routes will have more service at busier times of the day and reductions during periods of lower demand.

Transit service changes happen every January, April, June, and September. They are based on seasonal patterns and recent trends in customer demand.
