A High Court in Hong Kong has denied the Chinese Governments demand that a ban be placed upon specific Hong Kong democratic songs. Google also denied the Chinese Governments demands to not publish these songs. That’s right folks, the Mighty Chinese Government is AFRAID of A Song. Which song, well of course is the famed “Glory to Hong Kong” song, sung by those in Tiananmen Square so long ago. Remember Leonard Cohen’s lyrics about what happened in Hong Kong’s pursuit of democracy…
“It’s coming through a hole in the air
From those nights in Tiananmen Square
It’s coming from the feel
that it ain’t exactly real.
Or it’s real, but it ain’t exactly there
From the war against disorder
The establishment of democracy there”(Leonard Cohen).
Many thousands of Chinese young and old have been persecuted, arrested, tortured, and killed because they love their land, and want it to be free, a democracy like we experience each day. China is a dictatorship, a tyranny run by elderly psychopaths and old warriors who see all political and socio-financial dissent as opposition that needs to be crushed. These old folk with their Communist Party and Military too see youth as problems and not solutions for a future unsure. These elderly Ministers with their ambitious Present Xi, fear opposition so much that they want to outlaw a song, a democratic parable of sorts, sung by the democratic organizations of Hong Kong.
So let’s read the four verses and perhaps sing it to be true, in alliance and purposeful collaboration with the free-thinking people of Hong Kong…
“We pledge, no more tears on our land,
In wrath, doubts dispelled we make a stand,
Arise, Ye who would not be slaves again,
For Hong Kong, may Freedom reign.
Thought deep is the dread that lies ahead,
Yet still with our faith on we tread.
Let blood rage afield! Our voice grows evermore
For Hong Kong, May Glory reign.
Through the mist a solitary trumpet flares,
Now to arms! For Freedom we fight with all might we strike,
With valor and wisdom both we stride.
Break now the dawn, Liberate our Hong Kong,
in common breath, Revolution of our times.
May the people reign, proud and free, now and for eternity.
Glory be to thee Hong Kong”.
Those of you who have dealings both financial and political with China please recognize who you dealing with, political and economic opportunists, both Communists and Hard line Capitalists alike. China is an Empire built upon the bones and crushed freedoms of multiple ethnic and cultural peoples, like Tibetan or Uyghurs, or those who thirst for freedom. China is a failed state unable to control its population and ever-growing material consumption, a state strategically pursuing land and resources belonging to other free people, their neighbors.
Want to show your support to the free-thinking people of Hong Kong? China understands the importance of national prestige and economic growth, which it places above the people’s needs of course.
1. Do not visit China as a business or leisurely tourist.
2. If you can buy domestic products, support your neighbors do so.
3. Do not support politicians and businesses that support China.
4. Support and advise those who oppose Chinese adventurism and Tyranny.
5. Work for the liberation or betterment of Tibet and the Uyghur People, oppressed by China.
6. Speak, Write, and Publish your demands for Democratic Reform in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
7. Place personal and group embargoes upon Chinese Products. Support and buy from a free China, you know Taiwan(our national friend and ally)
8. Advise our national government to not fear China, but Stand our Moral Ground as a free nation.
9. Open our doors to Hong Kong Refugees.
China has never known Democracy. Let’s show those in power in Beijing’s Politburo that our democracies can and will support our brothers and sisters in need. Glory and Freedom to Thee Hong Kong and All Free Thinking People around the world.
