
The number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Ontario jumped by 135 over the past day, from 858 to 993.
That’s a smaller jump in confirmed cases than yesterday, when the number went up by 170 in Ontario.
There have also been three more COVID-19 deaths in Ontario since the last report yesterday, bringing the total in Ontario to 18.
Ontario has eight resolved COVID-19 cases, 29,967 people have tested negative for the virus, and 10,074 people are currently under investigation (that’s 891 fewer tests than were pending yesterday).
A total of 41,032 patients have been approved for COVID-19 testing to date in Ontario.
In the area served by Public Health Sudbury & Districts, six people have been confirmed as being positive for COVID-19, the same number as yesterday. There are 153 people currently under investigation for the virus in the city, 335 people have tested negative, and a total of 494 people tested.
In Northern Ontario, the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases has risen by one to 15, as Thunder Bay now has its first confirmed case.
The Government of Canada reports that as a whole in the country, there are 4,018 COVID-19 cases, 25 probable cases and 39 deaths.
However, the numbers for Ontario on that page are those reported yesterday, so the Canada-wide stats are somewhat outdated.
