Police seek vehicle to check wellbeing
The Guelph Police Service is seeking information about a vehicle after a female fell or was pushed from it Monday evening.
Approximately 8 p.m., a resident in the area of London Road West and Exhibition Street heard a bang and looked outside to see a stopped pickup and a female lying on the road just behind it. The witness called police, but before officers could arrive the female got into the pickup which left the scene.
It is unclear if the female fell from the truck or was pushed. She appeared to have sustained an arm injury.
Police would like to speak to the occupants of the truck to confirm their wellbeing. The truck was described as an older white Ford pickup with a plow attachment on the front. The female was described as being in her 20s with an average build and blonde hair and wearing a silver jacket. The male driver was in his 20s and wearing a red plaid jacket.

Male arrested for impaired driving
A Guelph male faces impaired driving charges after police received a call Monday about an employee leaving work while intoxicated.
Approximately 4:25 p.m., the Guelph Police Service was notified of a male leaving a business on Edinburgh Road South. The caller advised the male had slurred speech and was falling asleep at work.
Officers located the male’s vehicle stopped in the west end with the male in the driver’s seat. He had a strong odour of alcoholic beverage on his breath and was unsteady on his feet. The male was arrested and returned to the police station, where further testing revealed he had almost four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
A 22-year-old Guelph male is charged with impaired operation. His driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. He will appear in a Guelph court January 25, 2022.
Police seek owners of suspected stolen property
The Guelph Police Service is seeking the owners of suspected stolen property recovered from a male caught breaking into vehicles in the north end Monday evening.
Just before 9:30 p.m. police were notified of a male acting suspiciously on driveways on Balmoral Drive. Officers attended and saw a male leaving a parked van carrying some property. The male was stopped and placed under arrest.
A search of the male revealed a quantity of suspected stolen property as well as a small amount of suspected fentanyl. A 38-year-old Guelph male is charged with trespass by night, theft under $5,000 and possessing a controlled substance. He will appear in a Guelph court February 18, 2022.
