According to the Gibson Gallery, which benefits from funds raised by the event, the organizing committee had hoped to make it happen until it became apparent that “a festival of this size cannot be staged during a pandemic without putting the exhibitors, patrons, and volunteers at risk.”
Planning has shifted to holding the event in 2021.
This year would have been the 54th edition of Art by the River.
The festival normally features the work of dozens of artists and artisans, as well as live music, creative activities, and food vendors.
