Peel Public Health has issued a heat warning for Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon until further notice.
The region is expected to see daytime temperatures of 34 degrees Celsius on Saturday, July 18 and humidex values in the low 40s on Sunday July 19, according Environment Canada, which also issued a heat warning for the area.
Over-exposure to heat can cause dizziness, fainting, vomiting and rapid heartbeats.
Peel Health is advising residents to check-in with friends, family and neighbours, while maintaining physical distancing, to ensure their well-being during the heat warning.
They’re also advising to take a cool bath or shower, move to shaded area and increase fluid intake if you experience any symptoms of heat-related illness.
If the symptoms persist, call 911.
