Ottawa Public Health (OPH) is counting one new resident case of COVID-19 at Carlingview Manor, putting it in ‘outbreak’ status for the first time in a month.
Carlingview saw 170 resident cases of the virus, 89 staff cases and 60 resident deaths due to the illness between April 7 and June 18.
It joins five other insititutions currently dealing with outbreaks.
OPH is reporting 16 new cases of COVID-19, city-wide, after reporting 19 on Saturday.
That brings the overall number since the start of the pandemic to 2,224 lab-confirmed cases in Ottawa. Of those, 83.8 per cent (1,863) have been resolved.
The agency has been making an effort recently to get tests to vulnerable residents who might have mobility challenges, in areas hard hit by the virus.
There are just five people in Ottawa hospitals with the virus — one in intensive care.
OPH says there are 98 cases of COVID-19 in the community, that it is aware of.
