New agency mulling changes to improve parking enforcement in Montreal
The city gives no directive to its parking enforcement agents to be tolerant of illegally parked cars, whether they’re the personal vehicles of construction workers or the commercial-plated cars of anyone else, says the head of Montreal’s newly created mobility agency that oversees parking. Nevertheless, Laurent Chevrot, who took over as general director of the Agence de mobilité durable de Montréal in April, says his agency is mulling changes to improve parking enforcement in the city. “What’s really important for us is that parking is really a tool of managing mobility,” he said.
