The Toronto Maple Leafs are going back to Jack Campbell in net against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.
Campbell was pulled after allowing three goals on nine shots in the first period of Monday’s meeting between the two teams. It was the second time the Leafs starting goaltender was given the hook this season.
Toronto was able to mount a comeback in a 6-4 win with Petr Mrazek making 19 saves on 20 shots.
Campbell has struggled lately by turning in four consecutive starts with a save percentage of .850 or worse. He’s allowed an average of four goals in each of his past six starts.
Despite his rough stretch, the 30-year-old still has an impressive 20-6-3 record with a 2.35 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage.
