Microsoft has revealed a plethora of new information regarding its next-generation console, the Xbox Series X. Among all the technical talk is confirmation of Microsoft’s backwards compatibility stance with the Series X, and its ability to play games from every Xbox generation yet.
Microsoft has not announced any new additions to the Xbox and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility libraries for Xbox One for some time, saying at E3 2019 that the focus was shifting towards backwards compatibility for what we now know is the Xbox Series X. As it stands, the backward compatible library on Xbox One encompasses over 600 games, all of which will work on the Series X.
The post also briefly mentions backwards compatibility for hardware and accessories, although the exact details of which peripherals this includes is still vague.
