Skai Jackson, widely recognized for her roles in Disney Channel’s “Jessie” and “Bunk’d,” has found herself in the spotlight for a very different reason. The 22-year-old actress was arrested last week at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles on suspicion of domestic battery, TMZ reports.
Law enforcement sources revealed that deputies were called to the scene after security personnel at Universal CityWalk spotted an altercation between Jackson and her boyfriend. According to reports, the couple was engaged in a heated argument, during which Jackson allegedly pushed her boyfriend multiple times.
Security staff detained the couple until the authorities arrived. When questioned by deputies, both Jackson and her boyfriend denied any physical confrontation, with Jackson even stating that they were happily engaged and expecting a baby together. However, after reviewing surveillance footage, deputies claim to have observed Jackson pushing her boyfriend, leading to her arrest for misdemeanor domestic battery.
Jackson was cited and released a few hours later from the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station. The case will now be reviewed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office to determine if formal charges will be filed against the actress.
Little is known about Jackson’s boyfriend, as she has kept details about her personal life, including her relationship, off social media. The recent incident has raised questions among her fans, many of whom were shocked to hear about her arrest.
Skai Jackson rose to fame as Zuri Ross on the Disney Channel’s hit show “Jessie” and its spin-off “Bunk’d.” Beyond her acting career, she has authored a book, Reach for the Skai: How to Inspire, Empower, and Clapback, and participated in the 2020 season of “Dancing With the Stars.”
As of now, representatives for Jackson have not commented on the incident, and it remains unclear whether she will face official charges. The situation has drawn considerable attention, with many waiting to see how it will unfold in the coming days.
This incident is a stark contrast to the public image Jackson has maintained throughout her career, and it underscores the challenges that child stars often face as they transition into adulthood.
