Simple Plan announced a 15-date Canadian arena tour on Oct. 6, running from Jan. 26 in Victoria to Feb. 16, 2027, in Halifax, the band’s first cross-Canada run in more than a decade.
The Montreal pop-punk band, which will play 15 cities in 22 days, has lined up support acts for each night. Marianas Trench, the Vancouver band, and Bowling For Soup open the two British Columbia shows, and Yellowcard and Bowling For Soup open the other 13, according to Billboard Canada.
“It’s been more than 10 years since the last time we did a proper cross-Canadian tour in our home and native land,” the band said in a statement quoted by Billboard Canada. The band added: “We’re incredibly grateful to all our amazing Canadian fans for their love and support over all these years.”
The tour is billed as the Canadian leg of the band’s Bigger Than You Think! Tour. Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.ca, Daily Hive reported for the Vancouver show. Prices are listed only as “various.” The Daily Hive report quoted the band calling it “the best and biggest show we’ve ever done here at home.”
The Canadian dates, as listed by Billboard Canada, are Jan. 26 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria; Jan. 27 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver; Jan. 29 at Rogers Place in Edmonton; Jan. 31 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary; Feb. 1 at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon; and Feb. 2 at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg.
Ontario stops follow on Feb. 5 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto; Feb. 6 at The Aud in Kitchener; Feb. 7 at Canada Life Place in London; Feb. 9 at Slush Puppie Place in Kingston; and Feb. 11 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa. The tour then moves east with Feb. 12 at the Bell Centre in Montreal; Feb. 14 at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, N.B.; Feb. 15 at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S.; and Feb. 16 at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax.
Billboard Canada’s article gives the Ottawa date as both Feb. 11 and Feb. 12 in different places. Its tour list and a third-party ticket listing show Feb. 11, which is the date used here. Montreal is Feb. 12 in both.
The announcement drew local coverage across the country. CTV News Saskatoon described the group as “JUNO award winning Canadian rockers” on Oct. 6, and CTV News Atlantic reported on Oct. 7 that the tour includes three Maritime stops.
Daily Hive reported that Rogers Arena had teased the news a day earlier with a maple leaf, the word “tomorrow” and a frowning blue hockey puck marked 2027, a nod to the band’s frowning-face logo.
Ticket details beyond the Vancouver on-sale time, including any fan presales and per-city pricing, were not available in the reports reviewed. Fans should confirm times and prices with Ticketmaster.ca and each venue.
