“I MARRIED A THRILL SEEKER”
Toronto, On – Danielle Kaplan’s, “I Married A Thrill Seeker” A Wife’s Memoir Of Tragedy, Trauma, The long road to recovery and Living and Loving an Adrenaline Junkie, is available by RE:books Publishing, now. The highly personal and raw memoir is the first book by the Canadian author.
Danielle Kaplan is a speech-language pathologist and movement specialist with a master’s degree in pathology. She grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa before emigrating to Canada with her husband Steve where they carved out a life for themselves and their two children. Kaplan spent twenty years working in acute teaching hospitals, also gaining certificates in Pilates, personal training & acquiring a rehab exercise specialization certification.
Steve Kaplan is a qualified Chartered accountant who has held executive positions in companies dealing in high finance. Positions included VP of operations, Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating officer, overseeing company turnarounds and financial reporting upgrades. The pressure was always on but could be confining. Running over 35 marathons, riding BMW R1200GS adventure motor bike through most of Canada. Northern USA to Alaska kept the adrenalin flowing for this self-professed thrill seeker. Risks will always live with the adventurer. A devoted family man, Steve believed the risks were small and it kept the walls from closing in.
One day everything changed for the high school sweethearts. Steve set out for what he promised Danielle, his last long haul motorcycle trip from Toronto to Alaska. He expects the trip to be drama free with no unnecessary risks, just the freedom of the open road… a promise this time, he couldn’t keep. “I Married A Thrill Seeker” tells that story. Kaplan writes how escaping those walls almost brought the entire house down. When Steve crashes on a lonely stretch of road on the Campbell Highway, life changes for both him and his family. “I Married A Thrill Seeker” takes readers on a journey through trauma and the essence of the human spirit, filled with determination and love. Danielle Kaplan tells the story of her husband’s miraculous recovery, the impossible toll the accident took on their entire family, how they endured and came out the other side.
