The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays open the 2026 World Series on Friday, Oct. 23, in Milwaukee, with first pitch set for 8 p.m. ET (6 p.m. MT).
Every game of the best-of-seven series is scheduled for the same start time and will air on FOX and FOX Deportes, and stream on FOX One, MLB.com said. There is no Canadian broadcaster listed in the league’s schedule guide.
Milwaukee holds home-field advantage after winning a franchise-record 103 games in the regular season and finishing 103-59. The Rays, who led the American League with 98 wins, finished 98-64.
The Brewers host Game 1 on Friday and Game 2 on Saturday, Oct. 24. The series then moves to Tampa Bay for Game 3 on Monday, Oct. 26, Game 4 on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and Game 5 on Wednesday, Oct. 28, if necessary. Games 6 and 7 return to Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, if needed. If the series goes the distance, Game 7 will fall on Halloween.
Milwaukee is in the World Series for the second time in franchise history and the first time since 1982, when it lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in seven games while still playing in the American League. The Brewers swept the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games in the National League Championship Series, as Canada News Media reported last week.
The Rays are back for the first time since 2020 and the third time in franchise history, after also reaching the World Series in 2008. Tampa Bay swept the New York Yankees in the division series, then beat the Cleveland Guardians in six games in the American League Championship Series, finishing with a 7-3 win in Game 6 on Tuesday. Our game report has the details.
Neither franchise has won a World Series, so the series will end a long wait for one of them. The Brewers and Rays are two of five teams that have never won the title, MLB.com said.
The teams met in only one regular-season series this year, and the Brewers took two of the three games, according to MLB.com.
MLB.com highlighted Jacob Misiorowski and Logan Henderson as a strong one-two pairing in the Brewers’ rotation, and Drew Rasmussen and Freddy Peralta as key arms for the Rays. The league has not named starting pitchers for Game 1.
The first pitch of Game 1 is Friday at 8 p.m. ET.
