Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada invited 5,000 French-speaking candidates to apply for permanent residence in an Express Entry draw on Oct. 27, then followed with a smaller draw on Oct. 28 that invited 150 transport workers.
The French-language proficiency draw, reported as round No. 452, had a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cut-off score of 407. The transport occupations draw, reported as round No. 453, had a cut-off of 477. Both came the day after an Oct. 26 draw that invited 792 provincial nominees at a CRS of 761.
Candidates in the Express Entry pool who received an invitation to apply have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence. A candidate with a score below the cut-off is not excluded from future rounds, because IRCC sets the category, the number of invitations and the cut-off for each draw separately.
Candidates who think they may qualify for the French-language or transport categories can check their Express Entry profile and confirm that their language test results, work experience and National Occupational Classification codes are current. IRCC publishes the category definitions and the full list of past rounds, with dates, sizes and cut-offs, on its Express Entry rounds of invitations page.

The figures are drawn from reports by Immigration.ca, CIC News and Moving2Canada, and should be checked against the official IRCC page above.
