What initially looked like a scary moment for Darcy Kuemper on Tuesday night now appears to be a false alarm.
Kuemper was injured late in the first period against the New York Rangers when forward Jonny Brodzinski made contact with his head while driving the net on a two-on-one.
According to Zach Dooley, manager of editorial content for the Los Angeles Kings, the collision pinched a nerve in Kuemper’s neck, causing his arm to go numb.
The 35-year-old was back on the ice the following day and said he plans to travel with the team. Kuemper also expects to be available to play Saturday against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dennis Bernstein of the PHWA reported.
This season, Kuemper holds a 12-9-9 record with a .904 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average across 32 games.
The Kings sit sixth in the Pacific Division with 53 points and are tied for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
