Fiction with a Twist of Reality …consider….
There once was a King whose minions filled the seats of a round table. Situated in a place of power, this King considered many things, mostly centred upon His needs, desires and wishes. Such was the purview of a King. The King was used to getting whatever He desired. History showed this quite clearly.
He wanted a profitable business- he eventually got it, hook or crook.
He wanted a Model for a wife- so he desired, so it was.
He wanted a group of Yes Men and Women to Serve Him. The Secretariat became His Domain.
He wanted an Army capable of terrorizing all nations. So let it be done, he said.
He wanted all legal actions against Him halted. Even the F.B.I. feared Him.
He wanted a Third Term as Supreme Leader in America. Working on it, he claimed.
He wanted to be “untouchable” as all Kings so desire. If all else failed, He could run off to a non-extradition country.
The King was proud of Himself, His Family and His Princess Bride. He felt as though He needed to exert Himself and show the world just how powerful He had become. He needed a few “dragons” to slay, and He found them. Hamas was a Dragon of dubious nature. With his ally, Sir Netanyahu, He began the systematic eradication of Hamas and the Palestinian People in Gaza and Lebanon, driving them from their historic homeland elsewhere.
The King was upset about those within His land who have not vowed their fidelity to Him and paid their naturalization requirements. And so He sent His special constables known as I>C>E> to collect these folks and evict them from His land. Those Corporations that lay at the feet of the King and paid Him Homage were allowed to carry on with business unregulated, unforeseen by the Federal Government. Those principalities that were critical of the King were punished economically, socially and politically. Soon enough, all Americans realized that the Kingdom of America was personified by the Personage of the King. To rule divinely over a people unworthy of His Blessings.
Then one day the King decided to pick a fight with His northern neighbours, the democracy of Canada. Though political, economic and financial pressures mounted, the Canadians neared a stage of accepting annexation to His Kingdom. Then lo, a brave Knight named Carney stepped forward to challenge the King, hoping to end His reign of terror. Challenging the King to a battle, a debate supreme. Winner takes all. The two could use different tactics, such as simple questions or complicated ones, truth or dare as well. Three questions to be answered clearly, precisely and honestly would win the challenge, changing North American Politics forever. Throwing a die, Sir Carney won the first toss of a question. The King complained and demanded a recount, but to no avail.
Question #1. Your Majesty, you are certainly most educated and able to answer this simple question. Building up His ego to disarm Him. Your Majesty, which country on this planet has the largest land mass? (answer is Russia).
Question #2. Your Majesty, who was America’s First President? Was the First President a King? (Answer is George Washington. He was offered to become King of America but declined)
Question #3: Your Majesty, do You have No Shame for affecting all the lives You have negatively affected in America, Canada and the World? DO YOU HAVE NO SHAME??? (asked of Senator McCarthy during the Communist Scare earlier in America).
The King considered these questions with a frown and then a horrific scowl. The King did not like this challenge and said so. He would not go on, so Knight Carney won the challenge and competition.
The arbitrator said Knight Carney was the winner, and the People of Canada as well. Sir Knight, what would you ask, dear I say, demand of the King?
The Knight had given this challenge a great deal of thought, as had his advisors and many of those he represented in Canada.
Your Majesty, I demand with Canadian Humility and small-town truthfulness the following…
On behalf of the Canadian people, we ask for your indulgence and equity to fully respect and treat Canadians, their institutions, governments and businesses fairly, transparently and empathetically. Canadians wish to return to a period in time when Canadians and Americans treated each other as Equals, allies, and Friends.
Secondly, there is a cost to the way your tariffs affected the world. It needs to be quantified and monetized. These funds, with an interest rate of 18.5%, must be repaid/paid by His Majesty’s Government to all the plaintiff nations on this planet, including Canada.
Thirdly, His Majesty’s Government must abide by International Law and the Rules of Nations.
Finally, Knight Carney shall invite His Majesty to the “democracy of Canada, to tour, experience and hopefully develop friendships once again.
So it is written, so let it be done!
