Most office exchanges set a limit of $20 to $25, which leaves little room for error when you barely know the person who drew your name. The safest approach is to pick something practical that nobody dislikes, or something light enough to get a laugh without crossing a line at work. Prices accurate as of Oct. 23, 2026 and may change.

TRZLIFE desk vacuum
A mini vacuum is the rare gift that is funny for a second and useful for years. It clears crumbs from a keyboard or desk, which almost every office worker has needed at some point. The listing shows 4.1 stars from about 1,500 ratings, $24.97 and more than 100 bought in the past month.
The listing describes a Type-C charging port, a 1,400 mAh battery, an acrylic body, an extra nozzle for tight corners and a spare filter. Reviewers like how well it picks up dust, flakes and crumbs and call it a handy little gadget. The most common complaint is mixed feelings about suction power and battery life, so it suits light desk tidying rather than real cleaning. It is also close to the top of the budget at $24.97.

Retro vinyl record coasters
At $7.99, this set of six is the cheapest pick on the list and one of the best rated, with 4.6 stars from roughly 3,900 ratings. It works for a coworker you know nothing about because everyone owns a table.
The set comes in a gift box, the coasters look like vinyl records, each measures 4.2 inches across and a small rubber disc underneath keeps them from sliding. Reviewers praise how they look and how easy they are to clean, and many call them a good gift. The few complaints centre on how well they absorb a wet glass, so they are better as decor than as heavy-duty protection.

Burger socks box
Novelty socks are a Secret Santa classic because they are harmless and always get a reaction. This set arrives wrapped like a takeout burger and is listed at $22.99 for two pairs, with 4.6 stars from about 800 ratings.
The listing gives the fabric as 80 per cent cotton, 15 per cent polyester and 5 per cent spandex, in one size said to fit most shoe sizes 6 to 9, and says they are machine washable. Reviewers like the look and call them funny. The recurring complaints are value for money and how well they hold up, and the one-size fit will not suit everyone.

Gaiatop rechargeable hand warmers
In an Edmonton or Winnipeg office, a pocket hand warmer lands better than most jokes. This two-pack is $21.99, rated 4.5 stars from about 1,100 ratings, and shows 50 or more bought in the past month.
The listing says each unit weighs 65 grams, has three heat settings of 40, 50 and 55 C, and recharges over USB-C with two cables included. It is magnetic and small enough to slip into a glove. Reviewers praise how long it holds heat and how well it fits a pocket, while battery life and durability draw the most complaints. Thumbs-up phone stand
This stand costs $11.99, which leaves room in the budget for a card or a chocolate. It is rated 4.5 stars from about 255 ratings, with 300 or more bought in the past month, so a smaller review pool than the others.
The seller describes a thumbs-up shape in ABS plastic that rotates 360 degrees, tilts from 0 to 40 degrees, weighs about 1.4 ounces and fits phones and small devices from 4 to 8 inches. A bottom opening is meant to allow wireless charging. It is a light gag gift that does a real job on a desk. With fewer reviews, treat the rating as less certain than the higher-volume picks.

Sarcastic office coffee mug
This 11-ounce mug is $18.99 and has the best rating in the group, 4.8 stars from 106 ratings, with 87 per cent giving five stars. It is a safe pick for anyone who drinks coffee or tea at work.
The listing is a printed office-humour mug sold in the 11-ounce size. Reviewers say it is good quality, a decent size and a fun gift for coworkers and birthdays. There were no recurring complaints in the reviews we read, but the sample is small. Humour is personal, so read the printed line before you commit.

Desktop Drum Kit book
This tiny paperback kit lets a coworker tap out a drumroll and a rimshot after a bad joke. It is listed at $16.50, and a coupon price of $14.58 was showing, rated 4.6 stars from about 108 ratings.
The listing is a paperback, ISBN 9780762489329, built around drumroll and rimshot sounds. Reviewers call it a fun, perfect gift, especially for drummers, and say it delivers laughs. Check the listing for the coupon before you buy, and expect a novelty that gets a few minutes of play rather than daily use.

Shower steamers
Aromatherapy shower steamers suit a coworker you want to treat to something low-key and relaxing. The set is $12.99 at about $1.62 per steamer, rated 4.2 stars from roughly 420 ratings, with 200 or more bought in the past month.
The listing works out to eight steamers, and the seller pitches it for birthdays, stocking stuffers and white elephant exchanges. Reviewers describe it as a high-quality product. Scented gifts are personal and some people react to fragrance, so skip this one for anyone sensitive to strong smells or who only has a bath.
