Health Canada has announced a recall of Simmons Kozy and Nido baby nests and loungers, sold in Canada from January 2022 to September 2026, because they pose a fall hazard.
About 25,088 units were sold in Canada, according to the recall notice posted Oct. 22 on the Government of Canada recalls site. Health Canada said the products do not meet the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations.
The recalled models are the Kozy in grey (model 59900, UPC 7 74021 59900 2) and taupe (59902, UPC 7 74021 59902 6), and the Nido in ivory (59950, UPC 7 74021 59950 7), taupe (59955, UPC 7 74021 59955 2), coconut milk (59960, UPC 7 74021 59960 6) and moonbeam (59965, UPC 7 74021 59965 1). The model number is on the warning label and the UPC is on the packaging. No lot codes were listed.
The notice does not name the retailers that sold the products. They were imported by Jasztex Fibers Inc., doing business as Jupiter Industries, of Mississauga, Ont., and made in China.
The company had received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada as of Oct. 19, Health Canada said.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and dispose of them safely so they cannot be used again, the notice said. Questions can be directed to Jupiter Industries at 1-800-465-5795, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET Monday to Friday, or at [email protected].
