A second probable case of coronavirus has been identified in Quebec, provincial health officials announced on Thursday.

In a communiqué posted Thursday morning, the Quebec’s health ministry said that tests conducted on an individual who had recently returned from abroad were positive for the virus. That result will now have to be confirmed at the federal laboratory in Winnipeg.
The contacts made by the individual, who had been tested, were now being traced by provincial health authorities.
If confirmed, the latest case would be the 35th coronavirus infection in Canada and the second in Quebec.
The first patient detected in Quebec was given a “medical evaluation” this week at the Jewish General Hospital and later sent back home. She was not admitted. The woman returned to Montreal on Feb. 24 from a trip to Iran, via Doha, Qatar. She went to a medical clinic that evening because of “mild” symptoms of COVID-19, provincial health minister Danielle McCann told reporters at a press briefing last Thursday evening in Montreal. At that time, the woman did not need to be admitted to hospital and was in voluntary self-isolation at home.
Other cases in Canada have been recorded in Ontario and British Columbia.
