“If I was on a desert island with only one thing I could do for the rest of my life, I would choose figure drawing,” says Rae Bates.
She won’t, however, be going off to a desert island any time soon. Instead, Bates is launching Hamilton’s newest independent art school, Hamilton Studio School, in early April. And, yes, the first class will be about drawing the human figure. Classes in other subjects are standing by.
