Police in the Dutch city of Ede have surrounded a popular cafe where a man is said to have taken people hostage.
According to local media, the man entered the premises of Café Petticoat early in the morning threatening to blow himself up.
Some 150 homes around the area have been evacuated.
There was no indication of a terrorist motive at this time, police said.
