Atomic Heart has plenty of Soviet nostalgia and big guns to blast robots with, but it’s apparently missing one thing that a lot of fans were expecting: support for ray tracing. Developer Mundfish confirmed the omission to Rock Paper Shotgun on its PC launch day, stating that it will “look into implementing it post-launch.”
While not every game needs ray tracing to look good, it’s a stunning reversal for a game that was marketed with an Nvidia tech demo in 2019, as well as an RTX emblazoned trailer from earlier this year. However, it is worth noting that the game does have DLSS support, so it will still present a lot better on RTX cards regardless.
