Our picks
No. 1, best all-rounder: Fitbit Charge 6. The Charge 6 is a Google Fitbit band with built-in GPS, 24/7 heart-rate tracking, stress tools and sleep tracking, according to its listing. It lists more than 40 exercise modes and can show a live heart rate on compatible gym machines that support the Bluetooth Heart Rate Profile. At $219.98 it is the priciest band here, but it has the most reviews of any pick at 19,318 and a 4.1-star average. Buyers should check the listing for the reviewer complaints about battery and app features, because we did not read individual reviews for this guide.

No. 2, best simple tracker: Fitbit Inspire 3. The Inspire 3 is a light, slim band at $129.94 with a colour touchscreen, 24/7 heart rate, sleep scores and smartphone notifications, according to the listing. It lists more than 20 exercise modes and a three-month Fitbit Premium trial. No. 4, best for strength and recovery: Amazfit Helio Strap. The Helio Strap has no screen. It sits on the wrist or arm and reports to a phone app, with a 10-day battery, 24/7 heart rate and sleep tracking, 27 sports modes and rep, set and rest tracking for gym sessions, according to its listing. Amazfit says it needs no subscription, which sets it apart from similar screenless bands. At $139.99 with a 4.2-star average from 1,191 ratings, it suits people who find watches distracting. How do you choose a fitness tracker in Canada?
Start with GPS. A tracker without it, such as the Inspire 3, borrows your phone’s location, so you have to carry the phone on a run. Next, decide on screen or no screen. A band with a display shows time and pace, while the Helio Strap leaves that to the app.
Check the subscription as well. Fitbit includes a Premium trial with some models, and the Helio Strap is listed as subscription-free, so read the listing for what the app charges after the trial. Cold weather matters in Canada, so look at the maker’s stated operating temperature if you run outdoors through winter, and confirm the listing says it is sold by Amazon.ca so the Canadian warranty applies.
When is the best time to buy a fitness tracker in Canada?
Black Friday falls on Nov. 27 this year, and wearables are among the products retailers commonly discount at that time. We have not seen any promised discount on these five listings, so treat today’s prices as the baseline and compare them again on Black Friday. Amazon.ca also shows a lower “more buying choices” price on used Fitbit units, which we did not consider because those come from other sellers or are used.
Who should skip these
These devices are for fitness and sleep trends, not diagnosis, and any heart-rhythm or health feature does not replace medical advice from a doctor. Anyone who wants calls, apps and payments on the wrist is better served by a full smartwatch than a tracker. Shoppers who want a premium Garmin should know the vívoactive 6 listing we looked at was sold by a third-party seller, so we left it out.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best fitness tracker under $150 in Canada?
On Amazon.ca the Amazfit Bip 6 at $119.99 and the Fitbit Inspire 3 at $129.94 are the cheapest picks here. The Bip 6 lists GPS, while the Inspire 3 does not.
Do fitness trackers work without a phone?
They record steps, heart rate and sleep on their own, but setup and most reports need the maker’s phone app. GPS models can map a run without the phone.
Is a fitness tracker better than a smartwatch?
Trackers are lighter and usually last longer between charges. Smartwatches add apps and calls. Pick by the features you will use every week.
Does the Amazfit Helio Strap need a subscription?
Its Amazon.ca listing describes it as subscription free. Check the app terms on the current listing before you buy.
How we chose. We searched Amazon.ca for fitness trackers on Oct. 29, 2026 and kept products rated 4.0 stars or higher with more than 1,000 ratings, sold and shipped by Amazon.ca. We read each listing’s title, features and specifications and left out anything sold by third-party sellers or only available used, including a Garmin vívoactive 6, a Samsung Galaxy Fit3 and a Huawei Band 10. We did not test the products and did not read individual customer reviews. For independent hands-on testing of wearables, see DC Rainmaker.
