An electric kettle is one of the cheapest ways to get hot water fast on a Canadian morning, and the best-selling models on Amazon.ca run from about $25 to about $140. This guide covers six that are sold and shipped by Amazon.ca, with prices, ratings and review counts as shown on each listing on Oct. 29, 2026. Prices may change.

All six have automatic shut-off, and capacity runs from 1 litre to 1.8 litres. Four are cordless glass or stainless models for plain boiling, one is a basic plastic-bodied model, and one has preset temperatures for tea and coffee.
Amazon Basics 1.7L Electric Kettle
This is the pick for shoppers who want the best-rated basic glass kettle. It is listed at $32.99, with 4.6 stars from about 27,700 ratings and more than 1,000 bought in the past month. The listing says it uses a Strix thermostat, which it describes as known worldwide for its reliability.
The listing gives a 1.7-litre capacity, 1,500 watts, a glass, plastic and stainless steel build, blue LED lighting while it heats, and automatic shut-off with boil-dry protection. Reviewers mostly praise its quality, boiling speed and value for money. The main caution on the listing is that opinions are mixed on boiling performance.

Cosori Glass Electric Kettle, 1.7L
Cosori’s glass kettle is the most-reviewed model here, with 4.3 stars from about 65,200 ratings and more than 4,000 bought in the past month. It was $39.96 on a limited-time deal, down from a $47.99 list price, when we checked.
It holds 1.7 litres, draws 1,500 watts, and is made of borosilicate glass and stainless steel so that water does not touch plastic. It has a wide opening for cleaning and a 360-degree swivel base. Reviewers liked the boiling speed, appearance and temperature control. The most common complaint on the listing is durability: some buyers said their kettle broke after about six months.

Elite Gourmet EKT1001 1L Glass Kettle
This is the cheapest pick and the smallest. It was $24.85, down from a $32.99 list price, with 4.5 stars from about 16,700 ratings and more than 3,000 bought in the past month. It suits a single person or a couple.
The listing gives a 1-litre capacity, 1,100 watts, a glass and stainless steel build, a blue LED interior, a mesh filter in the spout and a 360-degree cordless base. Reviewers praise its performance, boiling speed and size, with some saying it heats two cups in under two minutes. The tradeoff is capacity: at one litre it will not fill a large teapot in one go.

Hamilton Beach 1.7L Stainless Steel Kettle (40880C)
Hamilton Beach is a familiar kitchen brand, and this stainless model is an Amazon’s Choice pick at $52.98, with 4.3 stars from about 19,000 ratings and more than 300 bought in the past month.
It holds 1.7 litres, draws 1,500 watts, and has a water-level window, a push-button lid, a drip-free spout and a cordless base that rotates 360 degrees. Reviewers like its quality, reliability and value. Durability and lid operation are the recurring concerns, and one 2024 reviewer reported that a unit did not shut off as it should, so it is sensible to watch any new kettle on its first few uses.

Starfrit Electric Kettle, 1.7L
Starfrit is a Canadian small-appliance brand, and this is the highest-rated mid-priced option. It was $34.99, down from a $39.99 list price, with 4.6 stars from 471 ratings and more than 400 bought in the past month. That is a much smaller sample than the other picks.
The listing gives a 1.7-litre capacity, 1,500 watts, a BPA-free plastic body with metal accents, a blue indicator light, a water-level indicator, cord storage and a 360-degree base. Reviewers call it quiet and good value, and the colour choices include black, sage, grey and fuchsia. The most common complaints are durability and a dark water-level window that is hard to read at a glance.

Breville IQ Kettle (BKE820XL)
This is the premium pick for tea and coffee drinkers who want the right water temperature. It was $139.99, with 4.5 stars from about 1,960 ratings, and the listing shows a 365-day low price.
It holds 1.8 litres, draws 1,500 watts, and has five preset temperatures for black, green, white and oolong teas and French press coffee, plus a keep-warm button that holds the temperature for 20 minutes. It also has a soft-top lid and a one-year replacement warranty. Reviewers praise its quality, reliability and temperature settings, and some say theirs has lasted years. The main caution is price: value for money is the most common mixed note, and one reviewer said it beeps and cannot be silenced.

Shoppers who want a gooseneck kettle for pour-over coffee will find several on Amazon.ca, including a Cosori model with five temperature presets listed at $85.49, but we limited this guide to general-purpose kettles.

How we chose: we started with Amazon.ca search results for electric kettles and kept models with at least 4.3 stars, a large number of ratings, a price shown on the listing and Amazon.ca as the seller. We read each listing’s specifications and the review summaries and sample reviews shown on the page, and we did not test any kettle ourselves. The photos in this guide are file photos and do not show the models listed. Prices were checked on Oct. 29, 2026, and may change.
