Public Health now has an expanded advisory for people who were traveling the same time as a person who contracted COVID-19 and died.
On Saturday it was revealed that a man on the west coast of the island died only one day after arriving in Deer Lake by plane.
The man, in his 60s, flew from Central Africa to Toronto last Tuesday, continuing the next day to Newfoundland, where he died of the virus on Thursday.
The latest advisory is for anyone who traveled on Air Canada Flight 604 departing Toronto for Halifax on Wednesday, September 30, and seated in rows 13 through 17. They have to self-isolate for 14 days upon their arrival in Newfoundland and Labrador and call 811 to arrange for testing.
People who traveled from Halifax to Deer Lake on Wednesday, September 30 who are required to self-isolate have already been contacted by Public Health. While the risk is low, all other passengers are asked to self-monitor for symptoms.
