Released on Apr. 15, Travel + Leisure’s coveted list showcases beach resorts, country estates and boutique hotels around the world that are considered trailblazers in the industry. Only properties that opened between February 2025 and February 2026 or underwent a significant renovation during that time were considered.
Among the noteworthy new hotels worldwide are three distinctly Canadian properties: a design-forward retreat on Vancouver Island, a cosy alpine hotel in the Canadian Rockies and a glampsite in Quebec.
Rosemead House

Rosemead House in Victoria — hailed “a maximalist-design fever dream” by the travel mag — was named among the top 100. The restored 1906 Tudor Revival manor has been reimagined as a boutique property that blends history with luxury for a “money-is-no-object rebirth.” Located just outside of downtown, the tree-lined estate has 28 rooms that have been thoughtfully designed with antiques and other eclectic details, giving each one a museum-like feel. You may even recognize the Buckingham Palace gates from Netflix’s The Crown, which, according to Travel + Leisure, were used on set. When staying at Rosemead House, guests can dine at its on-site restaurant, stroll through the gardens, exercise at the fitness centre or unwind at the spa.

The Kenrick Hotel

The Kenrick Hotel was praised for bringing a cosy, contemporary, wellness-focused space to the mountain town of Banff, Alta. The 67-room boutique property boasts a slightly lower price-point than other hotels in the area, making it a suitable option for visitors looking to experience outdoor adventure without spending too much on accommodation. Wood-beam ceilings and fireplaces add to The Kenrick Hotel’s warm atmosphere, and guests can enjoy a saltwater pool, hydrotherapy circuit and sauna after exploring the trails.
Huttopia Les Deux Lacs – Laurentides

Like Banff, Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains draw a crowd year-round, with travellers coming to snowshoe and ski in the spring and winter, and hike or relax by the lake during the warmer months. At the new Huttopia Les Deux Lacs – Laurentides, located within a natural park just 90 minutes from Montreal, guests can choose to stay in canvas tents or wooden chalets set between two swimmable lakes. Accommodations include full bathrooms, heating and outdoor fire pits, allowing guests to comfortably immerse themselves in nature during all four seasons.
