The 2023 LamborghiniUrus Performante SUV has been revealed. As is obvious from the name, this Urus is more performance-oriented than the standard model. Lamborghini has launched the SUV in the US market priced at $2,60,000. Its India launch is yet to be confirmed and it is expected to happen soon before the end of this year when deliveries will also commence.
The Urus Performante gets the same 4.0-litre V8 engine also available with the standard version. However, the engine has been retuned to produce 16hp more at 666 hp and 850 Nm of torque. Transmission duties are still handled by the same 8-speed automatic transmission. Adding on to these upgrades, Lamborghini’s Tamburo ride selector now gets a new “Rally Mode, aside from the regular Strada, Sport and Corsa settings. It also equips a rear-biased centre-differential; and it rides on special super-sticky semi-slick Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, a first of its kind developed by Pirelli exclusively for performance SUVs like this one itself.

These mechanical upgrades are further complimented by aero improvements on the body. This includes a new front grille design with bigger gaps to suck in as much air as possible for engine cooling. The Urus Performante also gets a new carbon-fibre hood with air scoops. At the rear, the Urus Performante boasts a new specially designed rear spoiler that increases the downforce by 38%. Along with that, the rear bumper is all-new made out of forged lightweight carbon fire just like the hood and it also houses lightweight titanium Akrapovic sports exhaust pipes. These front and rear revisions have made the Urus Performante 1-inch longer than the standard model.
The interior of the Urus Performante comes with Nero Cosmus Black Alcantara upholstery that gets a new hexagonal stitch design, as standard. There are plenty of leather options too, along with numerous customisation possibilities, courtesy of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program.
Lamborghini Urus Perfromante Interior
Last week, Lamborghini had taken the Urus Performante wrapped in camouflage covers to the Pikes Peak Hill Climb competition, where the SUV had set the record for the fastest production SUV. However, since the Urus Performante was yet to be officially launched, the Bentley Bentayga continues to hold the official title for the fastest production SUV in the hill climb.
