Here are some of the things that you should consider before booking your flight to Mexico.
1.Pay Visitax
The most recent laws regarding tourism tax in Mexico, more commonly known as Visitax Cancun Tax, require the payment of the tax prior to visiting any place in the country. Collected and handled by the State of Quintana Roo, Visitax is applicable to people of all ages above four.
You can pay Visitax directly at the airport before flying to Mexico. However, if you want to deal with it prior to your flight, you can also pay the tax online. You will have to fill in a few details about your travel, such as the purpose of the trip, your age, name, and passport number. Make sure you do it individually for each person traveling to avoid any misinformation.
2. Choose Between a Solo Trip or a Group Trip
Mexico is a place where everyone can have different preferences for visiting different locations. While you might be interested in history and want to see all the museums, your friends may want to go to the beach and spend a few nights over there. Therefore, it is important that you make this decision before you arrive.
3.Learn a Little About Their Language
English is rarely heard in Mexico, and you may have a hard time communicating with the locals if you are not familiar with Mexican Spanish. Keep in mind that you will also face difficulties if you are knowledgeable about the Spanish spoken in Spain but do not have the slightest idea about the Spanish spoken in Mexico. The two languages have a vast difference when it comes to pronunciation and comprehension; therefore, it is recommended to learn a few basic sentences in Mexican Spanish.
4.Check the Weather
Out of the entire tourist population that visited Mexico in 2021, 81 percent were U.S. Citizens. Mexico has sunny and bright weather, compared to the icy and cold weather of the United States. Because people want to enjoy some time in the sun, they choose Mexico to be their vacationing spot. (Source: embamex.sre.gob.mx)
However, you must check the weather before booking your flight. Mexico is well known for experiencing abrupt changes in the temperature; therefore, it is best if you make sure that you are traveling in the right season of the year.
