The most expensive house for sale on the Island of Montreal this month is the former residence of industrialist J.W. McConnell in the Golden Square Mile, asking $29.5 million. Westmount holds five of the island’s 10 priciest listings, with lakefront estates in Senneville and Baie-d’Urfé close behind.
Montreal’s top tier sits just below the national cutoff this month; our national list starts at $31.5 million. CREA reported last month that national sales had stalled for a fourth straight month, and the Bank of Canada decides on rates Oct. 28.
How we built this list, and its limits: We ranked detached houses on the Island of Montreal by asking price, checking each Centris or brokerage listing individually on Oct. 1, 2026. Centris does not publish a sortable island-wide price ranking, so we searched the island’s highest-priced areas: the Golden Square Mile, Westmount, Outremont, the Town of Mount Royal, Côte-des-Neiges, Senneville, Baie-d’Urfé, Beaconsfield and L’Île-Bizard. It is possible a higher-priced listing elsewhere on the island was missed. Condos and income properties are excluded. None of these listings has a publicly reported celebrity owner.
A note on photos: listing photo galleries belong to the brokerages and photographers who made them, so we do not republish them. Each entry links to the full listing, where you can see the real home.
