A Hope and A Prayer

America, America God Bless All of You Please,
shine forth your transforming accepted grace
and change the face of America please!

End the great hunt for those illegally transplanted
into an America they once thought free and safe,
embrace all who desire freedom no matter their race.

America, America your neighbors see you as fiends
combatively aggressive and threatening our Peace.
Accept their hand in friendship and partnership please.

America open your eyes to the possibilities please,
a “democracy” being transformed before your eyes,
authoritarianism crushing personal freedom must end,
and allow your citizens a place to blossom instead.

America see what the Founding Fathers once saw,
a land ripe for the taking while establishing a legacy
for empathetic and caring people like you and me.

Hands off Canada, Greenland and Iceland my friend,
and get your leaders under control once again.
A fist of anger and greed gets no reciprocity,
realize we are your cousins on a continent of shame,
and demand equality and fair treatment before nations once again.

America, America call forth the Light of Liberty,
for all the world to see and experience freely.
Wake from this dream orchestrated by evil deeds,
and bring about Peace and Equality among nations please.
