British Columbia invited 16 candidates under its Temporary Rural/Remote Health Support Initiative on Oct. 15, with a minimum score of 54, according to the B.C. Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) website.
On Oct. 20, the province held two Entrepreneur Immigration rounds. The Base category issued 10 invitations with a minimum score of 118. The Regional category issued fewer than five invitations, also with a minimum score of 118.
The BC PNP page, last updated Oct. 20, said invitations go only to registrations received before each draw date.
The rounds follow the province’s Oct. 8 Skills Immigration draws, which invited candidates in construction trades, health care, child care and veterinary care. Canada News Media reported on those draws in BC PNP invites construction, health and child care workers.
An invitation from the BC PNP lets a candidate submit a full application to the province. A provincial nomination is not permanent residence. Nominees must then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), which makes the final decision. For recent federal results, see Canada News Media’s report that Express Entry invited 7,500 candidates in two draws.
Candidates can check streams, scores and recent rounds on the BC PNP invitations to apply page. Canada News Media does not provide legal or immigration advice. Questions about a specific case should go to IRCC or to a licensed immigration consultant or lawyer.
