Drake’s album HABIBTI jumped from No. 116 to No. 2 on the Billboard 200 dated Oct. 17, after the Toronto rapper reissued it on Oct. 2 with four new songs, according to chart reports.
The album earned 71,000 equivalent album units in the tracking week ending Oct. 8, a 506 per cent increase over the previous week, Rolling Out reported. Nearly 70,000 of those units came from streams, the outlet said.
HABIBTI first came out May 15, 2026, through OVO Sound and Republic Records, and debuted at No. 2 with 114,000 first-week units, The Source reported. The reissue, titled HABIBTI (FOMO), therefore returned the album to its original peak with about 62 per cent of its debut-week total.
The four added songs are “Solar Eclipse” with Don Toliver, “Cold Shoulder” with Toliver and Yebba, the solo track “Quebec” and “Classic PT2,” an extended version of an existing song, Rolling Out said. The tracks first surfaced in FOMO, a self-funded short film that premiered during a Sept. 15 YouTube livestream, the outlet reported.
“Solar Eclipse” also entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 5, which is Toliver’s highest entry on that chart, HotNewHipHop reported. The song interpolates Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” Rolling Out said.
HotNewHipHop also reported that HABIBTI (FOMO) gave Drake his 18th No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, a record for that chart, citing the chart tracker Kurrco. The outlet did not say how many No. 1s the previous record holder had, and Billboard’s own chart report could not be read for this story.
The week was notable for who else sat near the top. Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl held No. 1 for a 14th week, while a deluxe edition of The Beatles’ Rubber Soul stood at No. 4, radio station KYIS reported. The station said it was the first time all three acts held top-five spots on the Billboard 200 at the same time.
The three acts have the most No. 1 albums in the chart’s history, KYIS said: The Beatles with 19, and Drake and Swift with 15 each.
The jump shows how far a short reissue can move an album. “Drake may get there by adding four songs to one people already had,” The Source wrote ahead of the chart, adding that “Drake is once again showing just how high his commercial floor remains.”
The result comes days before Drake is to be honoured alongside singer Jessie Reyez at the SOCAN Awards on Oct. 26. Canadian chart figures for the reissue week were not available at publication.
The next Billboard 200 will show whether HABIBTI (FOMO) holds near the top without a new release to drive streams.
