Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said his party would go into crisis mode to overcome a financing scandal that’s undermined public trust, as his support slumps to lows for a leader not seen in more than a decade.
“It’s extremely regrettable that the public has suspicions,” he said Wednesday at a meeting of ruling coalition and government officials. “To restore political trust, the Liberal Democratic Party will work together with a strong sense of crisis.”
