Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen was replaced by backup Michael Hutchinson to start the second period against the Florida Panthers after he was involved in a collision with Panthers centre Frank Vatrano near the end of the first period.
Andersen has since been ruled out for the remainder of Monday’s game with an upper-body injury.
The Danish netminder was able to finish the period following the collision with Vatrano before Hutchinson came out to start the second frame.
Andersen has been solid in his two starts since the all-star break, posting a .933 save percentage and a 2.50 goals-against average in a pair of Maple Leafs victories.
