You may soon start to notice some essential construction projects, or road maintenance resume in the next week or two.
That was the word from Waterloo Region’s CAO during a news conference on Friday morning.
“Residents will also see essential maintenance and operations work undertaken by the Region of Waterloo, and I should add similar work by the area municipalities.” Mike Murray explained.
The work will include line painting, sign replacement, sewer/ditch maintenance, as well as repairs needed due to damage caused by the winter.
“This work will be carried out with the health and well-being of residents, and workers as a priority.” Murray added.
He says operations and maintenance of our roads is also critical to the daily needs of residents.
“As the pandemic continues to evolve, we’ll continue to evaluate and reassess our approach, with the safety of residents and workers as a priority.”
Earlier this month, the province deemed the construction of roads, watermains, sewers and some other municipal services as essential.
