Health Canada announced a recall on Oct. 13 of 246 Tylö Halmstad and Tylö Kiruna Hybrid saunas sold in Canada because a bench can collapse and cause a fall, and owners are being told to stop using them immediately.
The recall (number RA-82763) was posted on Health Canada’s recalls and safety alerts site. It says the company, Sauna360 of Cokato, Minn., had received nine incident reports in Canada as of Oct. 5. No injuries have been reported.
The saunas were manufactured in China and sold in Canada from February 2025 to July 2026. The notice does not list the retailers that sold them, so owners should check the model and serial number rather than rely on where they bought the unit.
The recalled models are the Tylö Halmstad 2 in 15-amp and 20-amp, 120-volt versions, the Halmstad 3 and Halmstad 4 in 240-volt versions, the Tylö Kiruna Hybrid 2 in 15-amp and 20-amp, 120-volt low-EMR versions, and the Kiruna Hybrid 3 in a 240-volt low-EMR version. The full model numbers and serial number ranges are listed in the recall notice.
The serial number is printed on both the packaging and the sauna room itself. On the Halmstad 2, 3 and 4, the label is beneath the upper bench on the left side, directly above the electrical contactor box. On the Kiruna Hybrid 2 and 3, it is on the right wall, beneath the right side of the upper bench. The model number is printed in the owner’s manual.
Health Canada said consumers who own a recalled sauna should stop using it right away. Sauna360 will arrange a free repair by a professional installer, who will add hardware and supports to the benches.
The company can be reached at 1-866-936-5962, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday, or by email at [email protected].
Under the recall, the affected saunas cannot be resold, given away or otherwise passed on in Canada. That applies to people who may be thinking of selling a home with a sauna installed, or listing a used unit online.
Health Canada also asks anyone who has had a health or safety problem with a consumer product to report it using its Consumer Product Incident Report Form. Reports from the public help the department track hazards and decide when a recall is needed.
Anyone who is not sure whether their sauna is covered can start with the serial number label and compare it with the ranges in the recall notice. If the numbers fall inside a listed range, the guidance is the same: do not sit or stand on the upper bench, stop using the sauna and contact the company about the repair.
Recall notices are updated if the manufacturer or Health Canada learns of new information, so owners may want to check the notice page again for any changes before the repair is carried out.
