The impact of COVID-19 on the export market was like watching a “cordless bungee plunge,” but an “aggressive rebound” is underway.
That’s according to Export Canada’s Chief Economist, Peter Hall.
He says the plunge caused by the pandemic was so steep, and so profound, it’s hard to measure.
However, things are already on the upswing. Hall says many of the provinces started returning to work in May, with 290,000 jobs created.
And if June is better than that, then the aggressive rebound they had been predicting all along is already underway, says Hall.
